Mercy-le-Bas Aerodrome : ウィキペディア英語版 | Mercy-le-Bas Aerodrome
Mercy-le-Bas Aerodrome, was a temporary World War I airfield in France. It was North of the commune of Mercy-le-Bas, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France. ==Overview== The airfield was used briefly by the United States 1st Aero Squadron in November 1918 after the Armistice with Germany. It was likely a German facility during the war which served the Americans while waiting for permission to enter the Rhineland on 1 December with the Third Army of Occupation. On 6 December the 1st Aero Squadron moved out to Julvecourt Aerodrome and the subsequent history of Mercy-le-Bas Aerodrome is unknown. Eventually, the airfield was returned to agricultural use. Today it is a series of cultivated fields located north of Mercy-le-Bas. The airfield was located to the west of the Départmental 643 (D643), with no indications of its wartime use.
